It is a combination of two drugs: trastuzumab, which is a monoclonal antibody that targets HER2-positive breast cancer cells, and emtansine, which is a chemotherapy drug that destroys cancer cells. This medicine is also given after surgery to kill any cancer cells left in the breast (adjuvant therapy). This medication is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18.
